Speaker • Magician • Pastor

Make a big room feel personal.

I’m David Wood. I speak, preach, and perform close-up style magic for camps, conferences, churches, and events.

Whether we’re talking about something that matters or just having a ridiculously good time together, I want the room to feel less like an audience and more like a living room.

A great event should stay with people

Memorable is good. Meaningful is better.

I want people to laugh, see something they cannot explain, and feel like they were actually part of the night.

And when I’m speaking, I want them thinking about what we talked about after they go home.

What are you planning?

Tell me about the room. We’ll figure out what fits.

Churches

Fun when it should be fun. Meaningful when it should matter.

Preaching, outreach, student ministry, volunteer nights, and magic when it fits.

Speaking + Magic

We can laugh together and still talk about something that matters.

My favorite combination, speaking and magic built around your people.

My favorite combination

Speaking + magic.

I’m a pastor and speaker who happens to have a pretty unusual tool for connecting with a room.

Magic helps us laugh, participate, and get comfortable together. Then, when it makes sense, we can talk about something that matters.

Sometimes we just need to have fun

Close-up magic, built for the whole room.

Cards. Mentalism. Stories. Volunteers. Dry humor. Impossible things happening right in front of people.

I don’t want everyone sitting quietly watching a magician.

I want us to feel like we all just hung out together.

Need someone to help hold the room?

I can keep things moving too.

I can introduce speakers, work the crowd, bridge segments, and help when live events inevitably stop going according to plan.

And if someone whispers, “We need seven minutes,” I know magic.

A little about me

The magic matters. The people matter more.

Years of performing taught me how to read a room.

Years of pastoral ministry taught me why the room matters in the first place.

One of my favorite compliments is simply that people felt like they knew me by the end.

This doesn’t need to be complicated

Tell me what you’re planning.

1

Tell me about the room.

Who is coming? What kind of event is it? What do you hope people experience?

2

We figure out what fits.

Speaking, magic, both, emceeing, or a combination that makes sense for your event.

3

I come ready to serve.

I’ll prepare for what we planned, work with your team, and be present for the people in the room.

I’d love to hear what you’re working on

Let’s create something your people will remember.

You don’t need to have it all figured out yet. Tell me about the room. We’ll start there.
